Science Club is Science Friday’s invitation to YOU to go out, do science, and share it with others. This time we invite you to break something down to understand it better.
All you have to do is:
1. Break something down into simpler parts or pieces.
2. Share what you broke down and what you learned with the hashtag #IBrokeItDown, or use the form below.

Sometimes in order to understand how complex things work it helps to break them down into simpler pieces.
Whether you’re trying to understand a language, a plant, a proton, or a computer keyboard, taking something apart can reveal insight into how it works.
For this Science Club, we invite you to break a complex thing down into simpler pieces and share with us what you learn.
Share pictures, videos, recordings, or write us to describe what you broke down and what you learned. You can share what you find out on social media with the hashtag #IBrokeItDown, or use the form below. We can’t wait to see what you discover!
There are no limits—anything is fair game—so follow your curiosity! Use your common sense, too. Be safe! Read and heed all warnings on the outside of electronics, never break apart batteries, microwaves, television sets, amplifiers, or other high-power appliances. They are unsafe even when not plugged in! http://www.sciencefriday.com/about/policies/
